I. This event is open to young people between 5-18 years old and it is divided into three sections (A, B, C).
A. Students studying piano in music schools and high schools
B. Students studying piano as a secondary instrument in music schools and high schools or private sector
C. 4 hands
II. Sections A and B are divided into the following age groups according to the year of birth:
Cat. 1-A – 2007, 2006 Cat. 5th – 2002 Cat. 9th – 1998
Cat. 2nd – 2005 Cat. 6th – 2001 Cat. 10 th – 1997
Cat. 3rd – 2004 Cat. 7th – 2000 Cat. 11th – 1996
Cat. 4th – 2003 Cat. 8th – 1999 Cat. 12th – 1995-1994-1993
For Section C (4 hands) the competitors don’t have to be of the same age.
III. The repertoire will include one or two scores selected by the participants (will be interpreted from the
memory. The maximum time allowed is as follows:
Cat. 1-4 = 5′ Cat. 9-10 = 10 ‘
Cat. 5 -8 = 7 ‘ Cat. 11-12 = 15 ‘
For section C, the maximum age may correspond to the oldest participant.
IV. The program referred to in the application form can not be changed afterwards. The order that the chosen program is played is decided by the participants.
V. The competitors will be in alphabetical order under the section and category.
VI. Deadline: participants must submit no later than February 1, 2012 by post at the National College of Art “Octav Bancila” Iasi, Cuza Voda street, no. 29, by fax – to no. 0232-276087 , by e-mail to festivalpropiano.iasi @ yahoo.com or directly to the organizers, the following documents for registration:
– Copy of birth certificate or identity card
– The application form, complete with all data
– Receipt representing payment fee of 50 lei, the amount will be deposited in the account: BCR IASI RO70RNCBO178070840250001
For 4 hands section, the data of two participants will be listed on the same form and fee will be 50 lei.
In case of no show, the fee is not refunded.
VII. Solving problems of transport, accommodation and associated costs rests entirely with the participants. Upon request, you can make reservations at the home of the National College of Art “Octav Bancila” .
VIII. The following awards will be awarded for each category: Diplomas of merit, excellence (corresponding prizes III, II and I) and special diplomas: Best Performance by a Romanian pieces, JS Bach Prize, the prize Fr . Liszt, the prize for special artistic presence, prize sponsors (with the approval of the jury). Diplomas and prizes will be handed during the award ceremony, which will take place twice daily, according to schedules announced in advance.
IX. The jury will be composed of Romanian music personalities. All audio-video materials made by the organizers during the Festival, belong to them. By registering, the candidates accept these conditions and jury authority.
